Toronto, ON – Feb. 27, 2012 – Today, Spatial View Inc., a pioneer in 3D content delivery and auto-stereoscopic display technologies, announced that 3DeeCentral, its online store for consumer 3D content, will offer five original short films from the Little Rascals franchise. Legend3D, a leading 2D-to-3D conversion studio, has added 3D effects and color to this iconic content, previously only available in 2D and black and white, resulting in a rich viewing experience.
"The Little Rascals has continued to warm the hearts of American viewers for generations and we're thrilled to have partnered with Spatial View, combining our unique technologies, to enhance the storytelling of these time-honored classics with state-of-the-art 3D visual effects and, for the first time, vivid color images," said Dr. Barry Sandrew, founder, CCO and CTO of Legend3D. "The rereleased 3D content, which can be downloaded to mobile devices provides consumers with a more immersive viewing experience."
A pivotal series of comedic short films, Little Rascals has endured the decades and has produced cultural character icons, including Alfalfa, Spanky, Buckwheat, Darla and Froggy.
"Legend3D has done an extraordinary job of bringing these beloved characters to life on today's advanced displays—in color and in 3D,"said Al Lopez, COO of Spatial View. "The addition of the Little Rascals content to the 3DeeCentral online store is evidence of our commitment to drive the adoption of the highest-quality 3D through the availability of more iconic content."
Spatial View's 3DeeCentral will offer the following episodes of the Little Rascals: "A Lad an' a Lamp," "Fly My Kite," "Hi'-Neighbor!" "Hide and Shriek," and "The Kid from Borneo." These episodes range from 11 to 20 minutes and are available for purchase for 99 cents each.
Little Rascals' fans can download content and watch episodes on 3D glasses-free smartphones: the LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D Android. With the Spatial View 3DeeSlide iPhone accessory, users can view the Little Rascals on the black iPhone 4/4S without 3D glasses. Using the Spatial View 3DeeScreen users can watch episodes on select 2D laptops without the need for 3D glasses.
Spatial View will offer these Little Rascals episodes on selected 3D TVs later this year.
