Mr. Alexandros Salavrakos - Chair
With over 15 years of professional experience, Alexandros is an ideal addition to the SVI Board of Directors. After a few initial years as a business consultant in Greece, he moved to Belgium, first as an associate then as CEO and Chief Administrator of a "business angel" investment company. He has primarily been involved with consulting advice to, and investment in, start-ups as well as follow-up financial help in IPO's and M&A. He has been instrumental in guiding a number of success stories to the market - the most notorious of which being a start-up that developed into the Expedia travel company.

Mr. Beat Raemy
The founder of W3 Internet Services Ltd and Transdoc SA, he is constantly exploring how new technologies can benefit existing businesses. His fifteen years in the Technology industry have provided him a well-rounded outlook on how today's businesses can take advantage of the technology to streamline processes, improve communication, and reach new clients. Since W3's inception in 1996, Beat has overseen incredible growth in the company. He has expanded W3 from its base in Nova Scotia to become a global network of affiliates in six countries worldwide.

Mr. Wolfgang Opel
Over 30 years experience in electronic and software development, computer aided design, marketing and sales. He is founder and former CEO of an IT and engineering consulting company in Dresden Germany, which he has expanded from local to international operations. Wolfgang is based in Germany and Canada.

Mr. Ernst Notz
As former President and Chief Operating Officer of The Citadel Assurance Company (part of Credit Suisse Group) in Toronto and L'Unique in Quebec, Mr. Notz shares his broad experience in strategic planning, risk management, financing and international business development. As CEO of Winterthur in Japan, he has gained over twenty years of multinational experience, spending much of this time based abroad in Europe, USA and Asia Pacific. He is a board member of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce and is presently involved in various projects and charities. Ernst will bring his expert knowledge to the company. His arrival will enhance the Board's independance and strength.

Mr. Jim Trussler - Secretary (non-voting)
Jim, a successful entrepreneur and investor, has 20 years of experience in business formation, management and finance in many industries including healthcare, computer technology, real estate and manufacturing.  As a professional accountant, his background is in international tax and finance.  Jim was named a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the professions highest honor, in 1998. He is also a committed racing cyclist and is a voting member of the board of the Canadian Cycling Association.
